“I had been looking for a new longboard for several years but couldn’t find one off the peg that was exactly what I was looking for. A friend recommended that I talk to Chris Robertson about what I wanted as they had recently had a shortboard made by him and were really pleased with the result.  I met Chris at his workshop and we had a few detailed discussions about the specification before Chris started work.  I took my favourite battered 9’4” board with me and asked Chris to design me a new board based on the aspects I loved most whilst improving the speed and all round performance.  I asked Chris to design my board so that it was tailored to my dimensions - I wanted to be able to fit the board under my arm with my wetsuit on so I could carry it comfortably without losing any unnecessary width.  I asked Chris to make a new and updated version of my most treasured  board.

Chris involved me in each stage of shaping my board.  I visited his workshop several times to see how the board was progressing and discuss details of the design.  It was good to see the board at each stage of the manufacture - I felt I literally knew the board inside out.  I couldn’t wait to see it glassed and get it in the water. 

I am delighted with my board.  It performs better than any board I have ridden of the same dimensions and because Chris listened to my lengthily requests I now have a board that I ride with confidence and one that looks stylish too. “
